Tuesday’s ‘Easy Italian News’ and an easy reader on Vivaldi

Oh man, lots of bad things have happened lately – hate crimes, plane and helicopter crashes, extreme election results – what hasn’t gone wrong?

Find out by listening to today’s Easy Italian News!

It’s FREE and, besides the disasters, there’s a cute dog and an article on Halloween. Perfect for building your Italian reading and listening skills!

N.b. Thursday is a public holiday in Italy so I’ll be having an extra hour or two in bed. There’ll therefore be no edition of Easy Italian News that day. We’re back on Saturday, as usual.

What if you have no idea what I’m talking about?

Below is a copy & paste from last week’s email, which explains everything.

(If you just want to find about about the Vivaldi ebook offer, scroll down to the second line of pluses…)

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

At  EasyItalianNews.com we publish three editions a week, on Thursday mornings, on Saturday mornings, and then again on Tuesdays.

Each bulletin is between eight and ten minutes long, so thirty minutes or so of original material each week. If you listen to each one several times, you’ll be getting hours and hours of practice, at zero cost!

It’s even possible to sign up and so get each new edition via email, as soon as it is published. And that’s free, too.

The idea is that the emails will act as a reminder – today’s the day to work on your Italian reading and listening skills – and so help you build the routine that will lead to you better understanding the language.

You can listen for free by visiting the website: EasyItalianNews.com.

And to get the bulletins three times a week, for free? All you have to do is to enter your email in the form in the sidebar at EasyItalianNews.com. (Look on the left-hand side, where it says ‘NEVER MISS ‘EASY ITALIAN NEWS’!’)

Easy Italian News is usable by anyone with an Internet connection, anywhere in the world. There’s no charge because the site is funded by donations from users.

If you would also like to gift money to help the website pay the writers, editor and newsreader, you can do easily and securely, in pounds, dollars (Australian and U.S.) or euros, from the donate page.

Scroll down to find the currency you prefer, then select the amount you wish to give. Credit card payments are processed by Paypal not by the website itself, so there’s no risk at all.

Your donation can be anonymous, or you can add your name, or the name of your organisation or school, which will then be listed in the “Many thanks to…” section at the bottom of the page with the payment options.

New Book of the Week Offer!

Italian easy readers: Vivaldi e la chiesa della salute - cover image

This week’s ‘Book of the Week’ offer from EasyReaders.org is Vivaldi e la chiesa della Salute, an easy Italian reader ebook from our ‘Famous lives’ series:

A misty Sunday morning in Venice, 1703, and there goes Sig. Vivaldi, part-time violinist and composer, hurrying off to his day job taking mass in one of the city’s famous churches…

This original easy Italian reader allows us a glimpse into the life of the famous Italian composer, and fascinating details about some Venice landmarks!

A kindly reviewer, Tony, had this to say about it:

This was an excellent product, and exceptionally good value. The difficulty rating of B2 was correct and I found that there was enough new skill needed to be challenging whilst the general standard was accessible. My level is that I can read simple Italian and have a good grasp of grammar, whilst understanding the spoken language if it is not spoken too quickly and does not have too many slang or informal terms. This was just right. The story is well structured and maintained my interest throughout, and I find it useful to replay the audio occasionally to increase familiarity with spoken Italian. There was some new vocabulary, but of course there needs to be for my skills to develop.

(Find this and other reviews here: https://easyreaders.org/product/vivaldi-e-la-chiesa-della-salute-b2/#reviews )

“Very effective and helpful” Book of the Week – Now 50% Off!

There are only two buyer reviews for this week’s Book of the Week.

But they’re both very encouraging!

One reviewer, Tony, described it as “Very effective and helpful“.

He added “After listening and checking with the transcript several times I did notice a real improvement in my ability. The story is well written and interesting enough to make the listener look forward to the next installment.

Thanks Tony!

Aleksandra, the other reviewer, wrote “It is very interesting story. I knew it but never read in Italian“.

And yes, of course, I’m picking the best bits! Read both reviews in full here.

So, what’s the book? Italian easy readers - Galileo, Pisa e la luna - cover image

Galileo, Pisa e la luna takes us back to the Italian city of Pisa, in the year 1690.

He gets his reluctant assistant, Valerio, running up and down the steps of the city’s famous leaning tower to help test his theory.

Like Aleksandra, you probably learned about this at school many years ago.

But now, thanks to our ebook, you can actually join one of the Reniassance period’s best-known scientists as he conducts this important experiment.

And all the while improving your Italian!

This week only, Galileo, Pisa e la luna is reduced from the usual ebook easy reader price of £7.99 to just half of that – £3.99!

For that you get:
