A good challenging book that stretches the brain – or this one! So far the most challenging of the B1 books I have used but not bad for that!

  2. Raymond Dragonetti

I really enjoyed the story – definitely worth buying . I’ve taken to listening to it twice, then reading it and then writing a one / two page Italian summary which I go through with my teacher in our online lesson, so it gave me a lot of useful learning as well as being fun to read.

‘Cacciatore All’Autografo’ is enjoyable to read and listen to. My method is to look at the helpful glossary then listen to it a chapter at a time on Souncloud. After listening I read through the chapter making a note of the tenses used and writing down words I don’t know. This story perfectly suits my level of understanding as well as providing a sufficient challenge. It’s great for improving my listening and comprehension skills, and the story is sufficiently interesting that you want to finish the book. Highly recommended.

I purchase these books not just because they are interesting reading (which I haven’t found one yet that I haven’t enjoyed) but I purchase them for learning. And this book I highly recommend for anyone wanting to increase their vocabulary grammar and verb tenses. I got a lot from this book and it will be one of my go to’s.
Thank you Daniel and to your team 🙂

Stretches the imagination a bit but then we are talking about Italy. Easy to understand.

Level B1 is right – I can make out some of the phrases straight away, usually get a good idea of the chapter content – if I understand it all perfectly first time, there would be no point. As ever, on the occasions I didn’t get it, it was invariably down to limitations of my own vocabulary.
With experience, I had modified my approach to listen to the previous chapter (to get my ‘ear’ in) before starting a new one; listen to the dialogue 2 or 3 times, attempt the exercise, check the answers, finally read the text and then listen again (without the text). It was amazing how much more I could hear having seen the text, which goes to show it’s me, not the words!

The story drew me in, and before I knew it, i had read my first book in Italian from cover to cover. It was the same feeling I had as when I was a kid when I rode my bike without training wheels. The carefully graded language and the glossary meant that I could read without interruption, and get a feel for the language that is impossible to get from classes or grammar exercises.
I have reread it with the Soundcloud version, which proved a great way of improving my listening skills . For these reasons I highly recommend this book.

The combination of an interesting story and carefully graded language, and a glossary, made ” Caccia all’autografo” an enjoyable and satisfying read. Reading a book from start to finish at my level was a real thrill and encouragement – like riding a bike for the first time without training wheels. I did it! I recommend this way of learning. .. it boosts confidence and accelerates learning. Rereading helps consolidate the flow of language. You cannot get that feel for the written language by just studying grammar or doing classes. I highly recommend this book.

  9. Linda Cooper

This is a cute little story about the lengths a young man in love will go to to please his girlfriend. And he does it with some wise advice from his grandfather who speaks in dialect. There is quite a bit of the remote past in this story, which is always good to be familiar with when reading Italian literature. I enjoyed the read and also the ending.

  10. Leonard Attard

“Caccia all’autografo” is a fast moving story about a young man trying to obtain a famous singer’s autograph for his girlfriend; but he has many hurdles to overcome in order to achieve his objective. I looked at the free first chapter and straight away I placed an order to buy the little book because I wanted to see what was going to happen. I read it in one sitting and got the gist of the story. No, I did not understand every single word, but enough to understand the story. I will now go over it a few time with my dictionary. I think that this is the best way to increase your vocabulary quickly, understand sentence structure, and learn or improve your grammar. BUT THIS WAY YOU ENJOY DOING SO! This is another first class little reader! Leonard Attard
