Am enjoying this book. Lots of new words and useful everyday phrases which will come in handy. Good for grammar and vocabulary and also an interesting story. The exercises are useful, Just about the right level for me at the moment.

A truly lovely Easy reader at A2 level, not difficult, and because of that easy to absorb the language, which is modern and not too idiomatic. The kind of Italian you would meet every day, and would like to share with an Italian you are making friends with.
In fact with only two characters, the old famous cyclist and a journalist, this is the classical conversation when the journalist asks questions and the cyclist responds, so while reading this interesting story you will also learn to ask questions, essential for making friends and sharing a good conversation.
The glossary helped here, and the final exercise meant you could reinforce both the vocabulary, and at times a grammar item in an interesting way, after what you had read.

I have enjoyed this story very much and learned many new expressions and words. The audio part was extremely useful, the reading is expressive and not too fast. I can’t recommend these easy reading books enough to those who want to improve their language skills. The exercises make one think and are fun to do.
I tried to find out if this was a real story, but I could not find a cyclist whose name was Luciano Taddei. Instead, I found a famous Italian lady cyclist called Alfonsina Morini who competed in the Giro d’Italia with the men in the 1920s and wondered if she was the inspiration for this story.

    I loved it!
I found this e-book really helpful; lots of conversational phrases and I was able to understand most of it without checking my dictionary which was a bonus.
I find the Glossario a good addition and the exercises were useful too.
I have several e-books and they are all useful for listening to spoken italian as well.

I truly enjoyed the story. I only wished it was longer. I wanted to keep reading. I did stumble a bit on some words but after reading several times I was able to understand. I have enjoyed all of the books I’ve purchased and I especially enjoy your emails. Thank you. Linda

Il ciclista was the first Easyreader book I ever purchased and I am very happy that I did. It proved to be very helpful in my Italian language development, while being a very enjoyable read. I was able to follow the story throughout, with practically no reference to my dictionary,
It was also simple and easy to download onto my Apple iPhone. I enjoyed the book and the experience so much that I just purchased the next book “il Calendario di Laura”, which I’ll be starting later this week.

What a lovely little story. I listened to to the audio twice and then listened and followed the text. Apart from a few words that I didn’t know but guessed at, I did a lot better than I thought I would. The little exercises after each chapter were good. This book has given me the confidence to keep going. Just off on my bike to the local cafe.
