I found this a bit easier than expected compared to my last A2 book. Still good for listening practice though and a nice little story with some new idiomatic expressions.

    • easyreadersorg

Yes, this one is A1/A2, so intentionally half a level lower than A2. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, Meg. So few people bother!

  2. Zsuzsanna Snarey (verified owner)

I enjoyed reading and listening to this romantic love story, there were many useful expressions and some new words to absorb.
I prefer to learn by listening rather than struggling through grammar exercises. I have bought many of these easy reading books and I feel my understanding has greatly improved.

  3. Chris G

My first easy reader and what a lovely story! It’s good having the audio as that is my weak spot. I was able to understand the text quite easily but listening was harder which is good. I like the shirt chapters, glossary and exercise lay out. It just ended too quickly!

  4. Marilyn Marquis

What a delightful story!!! The setting in Bologna brings back memories of my vacation there. The language is manageable for my level, so I felt like I was reading rather than “studying” Italian.

  5. Diane (verified owner)

This ebook is excellent listening and comprehension practice for improvers, with bite-sized pieces which are amusing and full of useful phrases and vocabulary and can be listened to over and over again for practice. An extremely useful resource.

i like the concept of these e-readers and after some freebies also started purchasing them, they are worth every penny

I just loved reading this book! The vocabulary at the end really helps and it is fun to read also as a group and discuss together. I am sure I will read it many times more.

  8. Matthew Salvesani (verified owner)

This is the first book I bought and didn’t know what to expect. I have only been learning italian for a year and this was perfect for me. These books I believe are progressing my italian by teaching me new words and phrases, helping with pronunciation and translation.

This was great for my level of understanding. It was useful to have the word list and questions. Plus, the short chapters were ideal for a journey on the train! It boosted my confidence to finish the book and I am eager to try another. A wonderful resource

I’ m so glad these easy readers are available! I think once you reach a certain level of understanding in a foreign language, you crave something more than another grammar drill. You want something that’s entertaining and develops your learning skills (at least I do).

This story was simple enough to boost my confidence in understanding and comprehension but I was thrown a couple of curve balls with a few words I didn’t already know.

And the soundcloud narration is really fantastic for pronunciation and listening! Unless, I’m reading aloud to my boyfriend, I don’t have anyone around to correct me BUT with the soundcoud narration – I don’t need him 😉

Great book to practice Italian. Lovely little story that I enjoyed reading and it helped with my desire to learn more Italian

  12. Angelina Cowley (verified owner)

I really enjoyed the story as well as the exercises which followed each chapter. I had downloaded the free sample first to check the level was suitable for me. I’ve now ordered 3 more!

  13. Pauline Vince

Have found my level! Could read most easily, with a few new words and expressions and enjoyed the story. Great.

  14. Paul Nelson (verified owner)

I enjoyed reading this story, which is easy to follow and translate but is also interesting in itself. The exercises after each chapter are straightforward and helpful. Excellent!

  15. Jane Newman

I like the format of the book. The chapters are short, so not too intimidating and a glossary at the end for the more challenging words. There are questions after each chapter so you can gauge your understanding.

  16. Mandy Kennedy (verified owner)

Really easy to understand and great to also have the audio. Enjoyable story and some very useful phrases for everyday conversation. I read it all in one sitting.

Really easy to read and understand. It has a good storyline too but it ended too quickly!

This was the first Easy Reader that I read and I really enjoyed it. The reading on the audio is clear and expressive and I just had to read the story in one go because it gripped my attention from the start. I’ve been learning Italian at evening classes for 3 years so the level of the language was fine but it’s encouraged me and I’ve bought this week’s special offer “Un furto ad arte” too.

  21. Richard Hudson

These parallel texts are a great idea for learning or brushing-up holiday Italian. I’m a grammarian so I can use the books fairly easily, but I wonder if you’ve considered adding grammar notes on unusual or difficult sentences? I’m so pleased to have discovered the resource, and expect to use it for other languages.

  22. Anne-Louise Duignan

I really enjoyed this story. It was part detective, part romance. I found that I wanted to keep reading because I was intrigued by the story line.
I then used the book in class with a student and she really liked it too. As with all the books in this series, there are many useful phrases . For example : rimane a bocca aperta ‘= she is dumbfounded/astonished (left open-mouthed!) / “non vede l’ora” = she can’t wait / “quella folla di persone che vanno e vengono” = that throng of people coming and going “/ this sentence could be used to describe many Italian towns ” la bellissima piazza centrale; guardare le vetrine dei negozi; prendere un caffè in uno dei tanti bar che (si) incontra” etc.etc.etc.
These books can be re-read over and over and will yield some little gem each time. The exercises at the end of each chapter are really useful too. Wonderful!

  23. Karen

The easy readers are great for keeping you motivated. This one is perfect for wetting your appetite.
It seems to me the most important thing is to read material, not only to remind you of vocabulary and grammar , but to be interesting

  24. Allison

Great short love story about a juggler, a girl and a lost wallet. Wished the story would have continued. Good for beginners of Italian who have learnt the basics and some verbs to strengthen skills and word knowledge as well as enough additional new words and expressions to aid in further learning, reading and listening skills. Short exercises at the end of each chapter also handy for further learning and understanding.

  25. Leonard Attard

A really beautiful little story. Anyone with a couple of years of Italian should be able to read it easily and SHOULD READ IT and others as well. Believe me, I spoke Italian very well many years ago and through lack of use this beautiful language slowly retreated into oblivion. These books are bringing the language back to life in my brain. Expressions, that are so useful when actually talking to people, such as, “Chissa'”, “Bene, allora ci vediamo domani”, “Possiamo un giro della citta'”, “alle 3 di pomeriggio”, and many, many, many more started to light up my brain like thousands of little candles, slowly bringing this language to life in my brain. So for anyone learning Italian, READ, READ,READ, LISTEN,LISTEN, LISTEN and REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT. And then one day you will find yourself speaking Italian. Start with these books: they are little jewels!

  26. Allison Zito

Great for basic understanding and to learn additional words and phrases. Wished the story was longer, I enjoyed it so much.
