An excellent way to review my skills and make sure there are no holes in my A1 knowledge. Clear and concise. Thank you.

    Highly recommended!

I purchased this book to supplement my formal Italian lessons – using it for self-study and revision. So far I’ve only covered Unit 1, but it’s very different to other instruction books that I’ve read – in a good way. It’s written as a teacher explaining things in a class; you feel like it’s personal. (Other books are either just Grammar explanations or try to cover everyday topics with grammar as an extra – my official text book which I hate).

I am totally comfortable recommending this book to others and imagine that I will be purchasing the next books in the series after I complete this one.

I just opened Workbook A1…and listened to some of the listening files. The audio files speak a bit fast for me. /also I’m not sure how they fit into to the workbook. As I said I just opened the workbook.

I rarely do reviews but I will make the time for Online Italian Club/Easy Readers!
I am preparing for my A2 Integrale exam for my Italian Visa required by the government
I study mostly alone as I travel enormously and am in different time zones often. This website has helped me so much to study on my own. I ordered the A1 test and completed it with an A grade and soon I am finishing the A2 test which looks a bit harder still for me on a few areas. Taking these exams shows me where I am lacking in knowledge. and I can focus on them going forward.
I also ordered the stories books and I love these as well. It helps to listen to them first, then read it, then take the questionnaire, then listen again. Fantastic!
I am planning to order the private 30 minute lesson to brush up on my listening and oral soon and
In the meantime, I contributed twice to donations as a thank you for this unbelievably website. You deserve it! Keep up the great work THANK YOU!

I have found learning Italian to be a little difficult, don’t know whether it’s my age – learning new things seems to take longer the older you get and it is sometimes difficult to understand what people are getting at. This book is a start to a new understanding. I love it – it is clear and concise and laid out in a way that seems to make it easier for me. Highly recommended

Just finished doing and grading Italian Workout A1. It’s actually my third Italian study workbook. A LOT of good information ! A great book to work through and review again and again. I liked the tests because they encouraged me but also made me aware of weak areas. I think this is a great book if you are studying alone but could also use with a teacher to review. I keep a notebook to write all new words…added many. Will be buying the next level Italian Workout.

If like me you grew up in the UK within the old O and A level curriculums, then this structured approach to learning Italian may really work for you. I’ve tried different methods over the years, but having structure and exercises was helped me.

Thank you, this is a really good book, enjoying my workout, and so far not working up a sweat- terrific book for beginner level Italian.

  10. Nick

Fantastic book! I enjoy having a guide to work from and measure my progress and this works great! The only thing I would have liked more would be audio examples or an audio book to hear how these words and phrases are spoken.

I recently purchased this book and I have to say that I am quite impressed. Everything is clearly laid out and I really feel like my Italian is going to start improving. Each unit contains useful vocabulary and grammar points, helpful exercises and good dialogues. At first you might feel overwhelmed. I already know some basic Italian, but even I myself felt a little intimidated. Just take your time and everything will be alright. Also, I recommend doing each unit at least 2 or 3 times for a thorough consolidation of the material. While this is a great product, I do, however, have one complaint. I feel that for the price this could contain more content, especially audio content. We are only given about 8 tracks, which are used for certain exercises. It would have been nice to also have vocabulary sections recorded and even the other fill-in-the-blank exercises. Despite that, I am satisfied with my purchase. 🙂

  16. Marion

This was a great start to my journey learning Italian. I highly recommend the whole series.

  17. Kaye Crettenden

An excellent book for learners of Italian with clear and easy to understand explanations and exercises (with solutions). Highly recommend.

  18. Catherine Schembri

I liked it best because it has translations from English to Italian and the audio tracks are very helpful too!
