A really enjoyable read. The characters are believable and as I was reading I was picturing the tale as a film in my head. This is definitely a “can’t put it down till it’s finished book”.
I read it as per Daniel’s advice not to look up any words I didn’t know and the meaning of those was pretty clear from the storyline.

Of all the books I have bought and read (and that’s all of them maybe except 2) I loved this book. I love mystery stories. Once I got past the listening (3 times as Daniel tells us)
I couldn’t put it down until I reached the end. I keep going back to it. Highly recommended.

I read this with relative ease and enthusiasm as this is exactly the genre of book/film that I like. Whilst not as taxing as some of the other books for me at this level, I think that was down to my interest in the subject matter but a great read all the same and I would certainly recommend that others pick it up when they have the time.

These authors are very clever and I always enjoy their books and the plot twists! It is at a suitable level for me so I am able to read the majority of words which allows the story to flow.

  5. Lori

Another entertaining book for readers of our level (B1-2) It is a confidence builder to be able to read without looking up umpteen words. The few we may not know are defined at the end of each chapter.
What a fun way to spend my afternoon! On to my next mini novel easy-reader.
Thanks to the very talented authors, to Daniel, the Madre Lingue School, and everyone who makes these easy readers available to us students!

  7. Ann Dobson

Another excellent book which I really enjoyed! It was perfect for my level but also enriched my vocabulary and improved my grammatical knowledge Brilliant. Thank you again.

another fantastic book to add to your “treasure chest” of italian study materials! This is by no means the first book I’ve bought from Easyreaders.org. All are great. The stories are perfect – the B1/B2 level is challenging enough yet not designed to make you feel disheartened. With each book I gain so many new vocabulary words, both nouns and verbs, not to mention I love the use of expressions spoken in the stories to help pull me into the dialogue of spoken culture. Lastly, the comprehension questions along with pronoun quiz at the end is a great reinforcer – for ANY level. Thanks EasyReaders/Daniel/OnlineItalianClub !

This is a really fun book, especially if you happen to like ghost stories. The best thing about it is that you can keep going back to re-listen and re-read if you didn’t quite grasp it first time or you missed a point. Having the written words to follow as they are spoken aloud by someone who speaks Italian like an Italian (rather than yourself!) is just the best way to learn this beautiful but challenging language.

Once again the teachers at the school in Bologna have managed to write A simple but very engaging book. This is an interesting story that has you wondering whether there are really ghosts in this “haunted house”. The ending is a little surprise and not very scary. Very enjoyable read and I highly recommend it.

This is a good story, well written, that makes you listen hard to actually fully understand what is happening. The book is aimed fair and square at intermediate level learners and is supported by exercises and a very well recorded audio version. Luckily the technology used is very simple and it doesn’t take any time to download the book nor the audio version all of which were available immediately. This is the first book I have bought from this website and I am planning on buying some more based on my experience so far.

I bought this book yesterday. This morning I started to read it and could not put it down till I finished reading the last chapter. Not a long book, admittedly; but a compelling “read” that should reinforce the Italian that one already knows. It also introduces the reader to maybe unknown material, such as sentence structures, colloquial expressions and vocabulary. Reading books of this calibre is the best way to learn, and more importantly, to remember vocabulary, and to get used to the natural flow of a language. I intend to again read and re-read this book until the expression that were unknown to me become solidified in my brain and fall off my lips naturally without much effort. Learning a language in this way is learning a language the way a child does: not just by learning grammar and vocabulary but, more importantly, by listening, speaking and reading. I tried to come up with at least one constructive criticism of this reader and the only one that tended to glare at me is that there could have been a more extensive glossary of meaning of words used in the reader at the end of each chapter. But really this is an unfair criticism because if you do not know the meaning of a word you are more likely to remember it if you do your own homework than to glance at it written down at the bottom of the page.
Thank you “ON ITALIAN CLUB” for producing this book.
