I have a higher level of Italian than this, but read the story with friends whose language journey is in its infancy. The story is good and accessible and the glossary is really useful. We read it aloud and then worked at translating each chapter before attempting the exercises. I agree with other reviews that a greater variety of exercises would be nice. That said reordering is always helpful to do.

A great read and very helpful at my level. Well worth the money

I find this an excellent teaching aid that helps mastering the basics of foreign language. This one provides everything you may wish: interesting plot, carefully selected vocabulary. Highly recommended.

  4. Josie Hughes (verified owner)

I liked the book because it was just right for my level but it still provided a thoughtful story. It reinforced my limited vocabulary and extended it
I think the exercises could be more varied…. may be a choice of levels? I did feel more confident after doing them however!

Warren’s got it in one…. plus this story is very cheering in an old fashioned sort of way- not giving away the plot or anything. What’s nice is having it on your phone or tablet and being able to come back and find that you’re a bit more fluent both in reading and comprehension next time round- though my family have accused me of muttering away to myself like a medieval monk…

  6. Warren Murphy

I enjoyed reading this book and found that it was well written for my level, and to be able to read and then even understand words that I did not know from the context was very empowering as well as a boost to my confidence. It is also good that you can read the pages and then listen to the audio so you can understand how some of the words are pronounced. Take advantage of a great way to learn whilst enjoying the process
