Description
An original Italian easy reader by Roberto Gamberini
Valeria has been single for months now. She meets men but after going out a few times they seem reluctant to commit, or even return her messages! She wonders whether the dating app, Tinder, might be worth a try?
Michele spends his Saturday evenings alone, playing computer games. If only he wasn’t so shy, he’d meet more people. And then, maybe find a girlfriend? Perhaps the solution is online…

I have enjoyed every book written by this author. He has a way of making grammar stimulating, vocabulary challenging but not out of reach, and subject matter always interesting. This story is lighthearted, modern, and fun. I read, then listen, then read again, and I never get tired of the story, no matter how many times I revisit it. Each time I learn something different. Studying the grammar in this story is a fun exercise all on it’s own. Lo consiglio a tutti!

Very useful for practising reading and listening. The answers for the chapter 5 questions are still missing, though.

The answers to Chapter 5 are not missing, Kathy. They can be found in the text itself and so are deliberately not included on the ‘Soluzioni’ page. The exercise involves matching two halves of a phrase or sentence from the text that has just been read/listened to. It seems natural that people would want to look back and check the context in which the phrases appear.

I bought this book a while a go and finally got around to reading it this week.
I enjoyed it, it was light reading which suited my mood perfectly. Thank you.

I highly recommend for an enjoyable read. The language and writing style are particularly engaging—and that’s saying something, since not too long ago I wouldn’t have been able to recognize stylistic characteristics!
The story is a morality play for the internet age, describing how to portray yourself in a profile.
Usually I dislike grammar excercises, but these after chapter ones I liked for being a logical part of the story.
It’s an excellent choice for re-reading, too.

Excellent, even though it´s marked B2 I found it easy to read, a topic everyone is familiar with:-))

I enjoyed this book. I found listening to the story a little challenging but my reading skills are a little more advanced. A great story for listening to conversation which is a priority for me and overall an interesting story that I keep listening to and enjoy.

This book was just right for my reading level, enjoyed it and felt I couldn’t wait to see what happened in the end. These books are great for improving vocabulary and also learning a bit of grammar. Each chapter is not too long either.

This is a good story line that holds your interest and is just the right length. It is written in common, natural language and narrated at normal spoken speed, if not a bit quick for language learners, which makes it just challenging enough for B2, I think. It offers a good mix of exercises too – I particularly find the phrase ordering and inserting the correct verbs to be valuable. Overall, I would highly recommend this e-book.

I like this writer (I really rated La Via Francigena) as the story is interesting in itself but there’s plenty of grammar and colloquial usage to pick up. Like many people, my reading is way ahead of my speaking so I like to look out for material at B2/C1 level.

Another excellent easy reader. Beautifully written and the story really does make you want to read on to the next episode. I think it is one of the easier of the B2 books. My reading is well ahead of my Italian listening skills but I found it possible to pick up the gist from an initial hearing without the text. I then read the text, did the exercises and listened again without the text, finding it then quite easy to follow. It is at a normal conversational speed, as it has to be to teach real-world Italian, but it is read very clearly. There was some new vocabularly for me, but again that is the point. Extremely good value for money.
There is one defect in proof-reading. In my copy the answers to the exercises for chapter 5 are missing. In fact this does not matter as those exercises involve joining two parts of sentences to make up a whole one, so it is easy to check against the transcript. It might be useful to correct it in future issues. Overall, though, a really helpful way of improving reading and listening once again.

I consider myself an A2-B1 level reader but after listening to the sample chapter I decided buy the book. I found it to be challenging but understandable. With each book I purchase I’m always looking for new expressions and vocabulary to help with having a conversation, I think this book does that. Along with the audio it will help me push my Italian to the next level. Good buy!
