I enjoyed reading this book..and improved my vocabulary at the same time. Audio good and clear.

I find this book really good for beginners. It can be read without stopping now and then to look for words in the dictionary. It encourages one to read more in German! I strongly recommend it. The book also include questions at the end of each chapter, which helps a lot to better understand its content. And last but not least, it has only a few pages, so you will finish it for sure! It is not one of those never ending books… I hope you enjoy it!

It’s very nice book. And easy to learn. I would suggest this book.

As noted by the previous reviewer, the audio needs the first chapter title to be amended as it currently is being read as “a new adventure in Italy” rather than Germany as it says in the text!

Otherwise, very good resource for hearing how the German should sound. I haven’t yet begun to learn German (I am starting a course in October – 3 months’ time), so I understood very little of the actual text at this time, other than what I could remember from having just read the same story in French, also from this site! Which is good… I plan to return to this text/audio frequently during the course of my studies and see just how much progress I can make! Having a pleasant short story like this to return to is motivating for me though, and I can’t wait to get started.

The story is not a complicated one, so it’s great for this level, and it’s a good length for a beginner’s level text. I’m not at this level yet in German, but my 15 year old son is sitting a GCSE in it next year, so I will try it on him too!

Good for beginners although some phrases e.g., “Weil er weiss, dass das ihr Traum ist, der Wirklichkeit wird”, are rather too complicated at this level. The “Glossar” should include more vocabulary and, by the way, the first chapter “A new adventure in Italy” needs to be amended to “Germany”!
