Mi e’ piaciuto molto il libro Il Sorpasso. Il livello e’ perfetto per i studianti all’ inizio dello studio d’italiano. Povere ragazzo Roberto!

I had just picked up “Il Sorpasso” at our local video store and was looking forward to watching it. By coincidence, this reader was on sale so I thought I’d try one out. It was so terrific, I decided to buy the entire “Easy Reader” series on classic Italian films. I am looking forward to watching the films I don’t know AND seeing the ones I already know, again.

I really appreciated the succinct synopsis of the film, highlighting some pivotal lines in each major scene. The level was just right for me, a student trying to break out of A2 and move into B1. Even though I enjoy so many Italian films, it is great to have a study guide with questions. It’s a little like watching the film with my teacher (except no pressure)

It had been a while since I bought something here. I try to purchase something from time-to-time because I find all the free stuff and Daniel’s emails really well-done and valuable.

    Found the e-book very useful.
Added a few more words to my vocabulary.
Took 2 or 3 listens to get all the conversation and description in the book, just as Daniel advises
Would recommend to A1 level students as well as useful revision for A2 level
    Will watch the film now.

I found this e-book easy to read, and the audio was at a good speed, but unfortunately I was not so keen on Bruno, he took poor Roberto for a ride, when all he really wanted to do was study.
Like Stefan, I got annoyed with Bruno, but it was only a story, and it kept my interest.

I liked this book. I watched the movie after I finished the book and the book does a better job of communicating the emotions of the characters than the film. I am only at A1 level and it challenged me just enough that I had to look up a few words.

The Italian is easy to read but the main character is wet beyond belief- having said that you can have fun getting annoyed with him and the vocabulary is useful.

    Hello everybody!
I would like to say some words about e-book “Il sorpasso”. I’ve got this e-book as a prize and I’ve found it like a perfect auxiliary material for studying Italian language. I’ve got the possibility to read the story about the Italian film “Il sorpasso” in Italian, to listen it’s audio record and to execute some exercises related with the text.
The story is written using mostly the words that are familiar to a learner of the level A2 (Pre-intermediate). Some words that I’ve met in the text I didn’t know but – an amazing thing! – I found all of them in glossaries that follow every chapter. Yeah, really, I didn’t ever have the need to look for the translation of the word in vocabularies. It’s very convenient!
Every chapter of the story contains the link on its audio record. The reading in the record sounds slowly and absolutely clearly. Maybe, too slowly for me, but I’m already studying Italian for two and a half years. Perhaps, for the beginner this temp would be perfect. Actually I use to listen something in Italian and to write what I’ve understood, I find this way of studying the most effective. Thus, I learn to listen, to understand and to write at the same time. Of course, sometimes I can’t understand what I’ve heard because I don’t know this word or it was pronounced not clearly. If the quantity of such “gaps” becomes too big, it makes me disappointed and sometimes even furious. 🙂 But with this e-book such troubles are gone, I have the text where I can find everything that I didn’t understand while listening the audio.
After each chapter of the e-book there are some exercises, it’s another one interesting and useful thing, you know. Performing those exercises you can check how good you’ve understood the text of the story and train in some points of Italian grammar. In particular, you train your skills to make the correct phrases (the most easy for me), to use the articles and prepositions (the most difficult for me, because in Russian language there aren’t articles at all and we use the prepositions in absolutely different way than in Italian) and to use the verbs in certain tense. I’ve got the pleasure performing all the exercises!
In conclusion, this e-book is very helpful material for Italian learners of the announced level of A2. And not only for them. You know, for tennis player it’s very useful sometimes to play with an opponent of lower level, just to concentrate on some technical details without worrying about score. Similarly, if you feel yourself like more advanced learner than the one of level A2, this e-book would be very useful for you. When you read and listen something in Italian understanding everything (or almost everything), you can concentrate your attention on the way how do Italians talk to each other in some certain situations, how do they describe some things and events. Besides, thus you can ensure that you’re on the right way and that you’ve made some progress, it’s also important! Every new attempt to work with the material like this e-book will make you more and more confident in Italian. Just try it, you will see: it works!
