I bought this book as I had watched the film a few times, so although there were words I didn’t understand, the fact I had seen the film really helped with my understanding. I do plan to get the book of the film la vita a Bella at some stage as well

I really enjoyed this book. I’ve since watched some You Tube clips of the film and today I ordered the DVD. Can’t wait to see the film in full now that I know the outline of the story..

  3. Helen (verified owner)

I love this film and have watched it a number of times with subtitles. After reading/listening to this book I now feel encouraged to try watching the film without subtitles.
All of these easy readers I’ve bought so far have been well worth the money.

This is the first E book that I have purchased and am so happy. I am level B1 and I do find it challenging, have not yet finished reading it, but thoroughly enjoying the challenge. I have learnt many new words and the extra vocabulary explanation is really helpful. I watched the film years ago and loved it. I now have the DVD ready to watch and am sure my understanding will be enhanced by my reading. I also like the short exercises at the end. Many thanks.

This is one of my very favourite Italian films and it was a real pleasure to listen to the book in to read and answer questions. These activities furthered my comprehension and enjoyment.

I am looking forward to incorporating this ebook and movie into my curriculum for my class. Upon reading it myself, I have found that the reader is very appropriate for my students. It is an easy read.
I am a middle school Italian teacher and I have been showing Life is Beautiful to my 8th grade class for many, many years and accompany the movie with questions and discussions in Italian. It is used as an interdisciplinary lesson with the WWII-Holocaust topic in the Individuals and Societies class. I will be using Cinema Paradiso in the same way and am predicting a WONDERFUL outcome…..Thank you

Our ebook for ‘La vita è bella‘ would be worth a look then, Maria!

I had watched the film several years ago and this book inspired me to watch it again. I was delighted with how much progress I’d made since first watching the film. The book is very enjoyable and at a level which makes reading in Italian a pleasure and not a dispiriting chore.

  8. Chris Hannen (verified owner)

    I bought this because I love the film. I wasn’t disappointed 🙂

An excellent resource. It’s a great way to build up confidence and improve listening skills, the glossary is useful too. Very enjoyable.

I bought and read through the whole thing in preparation for a trip to
Sicily. I choose this one because I had seen the movie and kind of had the scenes in mind and because I had watched the movie without subtitles, leaving some questions about the plot.
I learned some words I didn’t know and mostly I wanted to get my brain used to thinking in Italian.
Time well spent. Highly recommended if you know a little Italian, or Spanish even.

I am very happy and enjoying the Cinema Paradiso book with listening, translation and questions offered to help me understand what I have read.
I have not finished reading and using this book but I am looking forward to a next book. I am hoping to also find the actual movie so once the book is complete I will watch and enjoy the movie as a extra benefit to reading the book.

I plan to share this book with a few friends who are also interested in learning Italian and hopefully they will also purchase future books. Thankyou,

This is my first A2/B1 e-book, after several B1 listenings/readings. Again, I found the stated level accurate, this one being slightly easier to follow even at first listening.
Another worthy addition to the range, based on a great film.
    Enjoy!

I have purchased 9 e-readers for my students in Bristol, CT. I love to accompany this reader while watching the film. This has been a great addition to our language study. There are a ton of activities teachers/learners can create using these books as a vehicle for grammar/vocabulary and culture study. I highly recommend these readers!

  14. Ed Mason

Loved the movie and loved reading a story that is so familiar. See? Learning Italian can be fun and challenging. Wonderful little book.

  15. Karen

The easy readers based on famous films really enhance your learning. This one presents the story in a way that you can easily absorb new vocabulary and grammar. Its worth revisiting the text and the audio several times and it will feel increasingly familiar. It is a brilliant addition to watching the film. Then you can read through again with the beautiful atmospheric music running through your head. So much better than a text book

  16. Graham March

This book provided everything I needed at a reasonable price. You can listen whilst you read or merely read first and listen afterwards. The glossary is very helpful in extending one’s vocabulary and the exercises add to the understanding experience. Another example of Online Italian providing a good book to further the learning of a beautiful language.
